叶问是世界著名武术家，詠春拳一代宗师，对詠春拳的发展乃至中华武术文化在世界的传播有着巨大的影响，他热爱中华民族，崇德重礼、轻利重义的高洁品格更让人肃然起敬。

　　为了纪念这位杰出的武术家，保护宝贵的非物质文化遗产“詠春拳·叶问宗支”，叶问故里——非物质文化遗产“詠春拳·叶问宗支”的保护单位——罗村，特建设叶问纪念馆，以秉承叶问宗师的精神，保护、推广詠春文化，全力打造詠春文化的传承基地、交流中心，大力弘扬中华民族优秀传统文化和民族精神，进而构建和谐社会、幸福家园。

　　叶问纪念馆由两组建筑构成，分别参照叶氏宗祠和叶问故居——桑园大宅进行设计。于二零零九年十一月举行奠基仪式，历经两年的精雕细镂，在二零一二年一月落成开放，展出大批珍贵的资料，包括詠春拳的历史渊源、叶问的生平事迹，詠春拳·叶问宗支现今发展情况等，还设有叶问故居复原场景，欢迎各界人士前来参观。

　　回望叶问的一生，回顾詠春的发展历史，叶问与詠春，二者血肉相连、密不可分。詠春成就了叶问，叶问也成就了詠春。作为詠春发展历史中一位重要的人物，叶问的贡献与地位无可替代。

　　叶问是詠春的象征，却又不仅是詠春。他享受过锦衣玉食的富足，也深尝过食不果腹的困苦。面对日军迫害不卑不亢，面对弟子尊崇不矜不伐。无论顺境逆境，叶问始终坚持着自己的原则——“习武先立品”、“重节而轻利”，踱着方步淡然地走过了跌宕起伏的历史。叶问本身也是一种文化，蕴含着深厚的中华民族传统美德。

　　如今叶问的传人接过了叶问传下的旗帜，在世界各地锲而不舍地弘扬着叶问文化、詠春文化。罗村作为叶问文化、詠春文化的传承者之一，将与宗师传人携手努力，共创辉煌。

　　最后，叶问纪念馆的建设得到省、市、区各级领导，海内外叶问传人特别是叶问长子叶准师傅、次子叶正师傅的大力支持。在展品的征集和整理过程中，海内外叶问传人、祖庙博物馆、梁赞后人均提供了大量珍贵的图片和资料。在此谨对参与和支持叶问纪念馆建设的各单位和个人表示衷心感谢！

Ip Man, one of the world prestigious Kungfu artist and the Grand Master of Wing Chun Kung Fu. He deeply influenced the development of Wing Chun in spreading the Chinese Kungfu culture to the world. He was being respected for his loyalty to the Chinese nation, his honour to the virtue and rites of Chinese and righteous and brotherhood while neglecting self interest.

In order to memorize this brilliant Kungfu artist and to protect the precious intangible cultural heritage - “Wing Chun· Grandmaster Ip Man heritage”, the Ip Man Memorial Stadium was built by the Protection Unit of Ip Man’s hometown Luocun.

It aims to inherit the spirit of Grandmaster Ip Man, to protect and to promote the culture of Wing Chun, to build the base and communication centre of the Ip Man’s spirit so as to unify“Wing Chun· Grandmaster Ip Man heritage”, to spread the beauty of Chinese traditional culture and nationality and likewise to build a harmonious society and family.

TheIp Man memorial stadium consisted of two main structures. The first one is designed and based on the Ancestral Hall of Ip’s clan and the old house of Grandmaster Ip Man in Luocun. The second one is setup to revamp scene of the old house of Grandmaster Ip Man.The construction commenced in November, 2009. After two years of fine furnishing, it was officially opened in January, 2012. TheIp Man Memorial Stadium displays tons of valuable information, including the history of Wing Chun, the lifetime story of Grandmaster Ip Man and his disciples as well as the current development of Wing Chun·Grandmaster Ip Man heritage.

Looking back the life of the Grandmaster Ip and the history of Wing Chun,Ip Man and Wing Chun are closely connected with each other and cannot be separated.Wing Chun had helped and influenced Ip Man ,Ip Man had helped and influenced Ip Man.Ip Man was one of the important persons of the Wing Chun debelopment history,his sacrifices and status could never be replaced.

Ip Man is the icon of Wing Chun,yet,he is more than just an icon.He once lived a wealthy and substantial life;he also experienced hardships during war time.He suffered from the Japanese Army’s persecution.He gained respect from his disciples.”Virtue is more important than Kungfu skills” and “Pride should be valued more than physical interests”were the principles of Ip Man.He stood for his principle view and walked through the ups and downs of his life.Ip Man had the traditional beauty of the Chinese Nation,Ip Man is a culture.

The descendants of the Grandmaster Ip take up the role of their master,they spread the Ip Man culture and Wing Chun culture all over the world.Luocun,being the base and inheritor of the Ip Man culture and Wing Chun culture,will work together with the descendants of the Grandmaster Ip to build a fruitful future.

With the support and assistance from the Province,City and District Leaders,the descendants of Ip Man from China and overseas,especially the sons of Ip Man,Master Ip Chun and Master Ip Ching,the Grandmaster Ip Man Memorial Stadium is founded.In the process of collecting and organizing data，the descendants of Ip Man,Foshan Zumiao Museum and descendants of Leung Jan provided massive of valuable pictures and information.We’d like to express our vote of thanks to all the participation and support to the Grandmaster Ip Man Memorial Stadium.
